Well, 2012 is drawing to a close, and je parle américain has had a great year: almost 51,000 views all-time, of which over 43,000 were in 2012. Lately, we’ve been blowing the roof off this place, with big increases in viewership month after month: 4,052 views in October … 5,727 views in November … and 7,080 views in December (with a few hours still left). That’s a 75% increase over October’s numbers!
Over at WordPress.com, the statistics helper monkeys prepared a pretty interesting 2012 annual report for je parle américain, and I’d like to share it with you. It seems that I owe a lot of my success this year to Jean Reno and Grey Goose vodka. Those were the most popular search terms that directed Internet surfers to my blog. But search terms as varied as pink kilt, disco train, french peanut butter, cute moped, and dogs nose also brought folks my way. I hope they found what they were looking for … or at least something interesting enough to stick around for a while.
Here’s an little excerpt from je parle américain’s Annual Report:
4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 43,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 10 Film Festivals.
(P.S. — Maybe that was a nod to the prominence of Jean Reno in my search terms?)

Thanks for making 2012 such a great year for je parle américain. Have a safe and festive New Year’s Eve and a happy and prosperous New Year!

Thanks! Bon réveillon ce soir … et bonne année bientôt !
I’m glad I found you this year. We have some interesting connections though we’ve never met. You hit the nail on the head with expat life in France, and I appreciate your articles connectings SC and France. 8th grade SC history was a long time ago. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much Sara! I’m very glad you’re enjoying the blog — especially those French-SC connections! Stay tuned … there will be more! 🙂
