Remember our love lock? Well …
It seems the cadenas d’amour (love locks) have been removed from the Pont des Arts following the recent collapse of one of the chain-link sections under their weight. If you compare photos from two years ago when we placed our lock with photos from recent months, you’ll understand exactly why that happened.
Unfortunately for us, we don’t know where our lock is now, and we certainly wouldn’t be able to find it even if we did know. Oh well … you had a good run, little cadenas, until people just overdid it. As the French say, “Trop de romantisme tue le romantisme.” Too much of a good thing …
Rest in peace … uh … in pieces?
